Emirates order an additional 84 AeroMobile systems through eXPhone as the passengers connecting to AeroMobile passes the five million mark. Emirates’ Patrick Brannelly said: “Since AeroMobile was introduced on our flights in March 2008, we have witnessed a remarkable rise in passenger usage. Reaching the five million user mark is a significant milestone for Emirates and showcases exactly how popular the service has become."
SAS and Gulf Air sign as new customers, adding to the roster of flag-carrier customers.

Lufthansa signs up as new AeroMobile customer through Panasonic’s eXPhone system, giving AeroMobile commitments on all wide-bodied aircraft variants.
Panasonic partnership announced. AeroMobile says: “Our relationship with Panasonic unites the world’s largest IFE provider with one of the world’s largest telecom providers – our majority shareholder Telenor - enabling us to provide a genuine enhancement to airline IFE solutions.
Aeromobile establishes additional offices in Singapore and Dubai in addition to UK HQ.
2008
The world’s first authorised in-flight mobile phone calls on a commercial flight take place on Emirates flight EK751 flying between Dubai and Casablanca on March 20. By year-end more than 50,000 passengers have used the service.
Malaysian Airlines and V Australia also sign up with AeroMobile.
In September, AeroMobile wins the “Best Achievement in Technology 2008” award from the World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA).
2007
Qantas begins a trial of the AeroMobile system in April, with more than 11,000 passengers using the service in the first four months.
The UK’s Civil Aviation Authority completes its airworthiness certification process, paving the way for AeroMobile to enter full commercial service.
