Boeing and AeroMobile™ to Explore Line-Fit Options for AeroMobile’s In-Flight Cellular Services
August 31, 2005
Annapolis, Maryland and Oslo, Norway—Following the recent
involvement of AeroMobile in the much-publicized Boeing 777-200
LR Worldliner (Longer Range) “Going the Distance” tour,
AeroMobile today announced an agreement with Boeing Commercial Airplanes
to explore the feasibility of equipping new Boeing passenger airframes
with AeroMobile’s in-flight cellular solution.
The agreement covers line-fit options for both wide body and narrow
body Boeing aircraft, starting with the Boeing 777 airplane family.
Safety is clearly of prime consideration, and a number of engineering
tests are planned to validate the installation principles and theory.
“This agreement adds a new dimension to our relationship with
Boeing that will allow both companies to continue to meet the needs
of their mutual customers,” stated Graham Lake, President
of AeroMobile. “As we explore AeroMobile line-fit options
on Boeing aircraft, we continue to support the Boeing 777-200LR
Worldliner marketing activities.”
The new agreement with the world’s leading aircraft producer
is a key step forward. “Early this year we announced the names
of our technology partners, and we now look forward to working with
Boeing to harmonize our solution into Boeing aircraft,” added
Lake.
