Boeing aircraft to be line fitted with AeroMobile™ equipment

London, 04 April 2006

AeroMobile has signed a Technical Services Agreement with Boeing for the installation of AeroMobile’s market leading in-flight mobile (cell) phone solution. The Technical Services Agreement allows AeroMobile to be an airline-specified ‘line-fit’ option for all current Boeing aircraft, with the system installed and certified by Boeing when aircraft are manufactured.

The agreement means that AeroMobile has now entered ‘Phase 2’ of the Boeing Technical Services Agreement process which finalises the technical details for the installation and results in AeroMobile being placed on the official Boeing options catalogue. The first aircraft type that will have the AeroMobile option is the Boeing 777 and it is expected that the initial AeroMobile installation will be completed by Boeing as early as 4Q 2006.

Graham Lake, AeroMobile’s President, said: “The Technical Services Agreement signed between AeroMobile and Boeing is a huge step forward. It gives airlines the option they need to specify and have AeroMobile installed when their aircraft are manufactured. We anticipate that through the year the necessary approvals will be given for the use of AeroMobile’s pico-cell based system, allowing the commercial operation of AeroMobile by airlines.” …More

AeroMobile is now working with three airlines in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions to fit AeroMobile’s technology, and expects two to be operational by the end of this year. Additionally, a European airline plans to install AeroMobile equipment in 2007. It is anticipated that the around 100 aircraft will be fitted with the AeroMobile system by the end of 2007, either line-fitted by Boeing or through the retrofitting of existing aircraft. AeroMobile is also working with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to integrate the AeroMobile system as an optional upgrade to Panasonic’s current and future IFE product lines.
AeroMobile is a member of the GSM Association which allows the use of GSMA roaming agreements and algorithms and means that AeroMobile’s service can be made available through International Roaming Agreements to any other GSM operator worldwide.
