AeroMobile Demonstrates Fully Operational Services at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2007, Hamburg.
Hamburg, Tuesday 17th April 2007
AeroMobile, the leading provider of in-flight mobile phone services, is demonstrating
‘live’ mobile voice, text and data communications services using its complete
24/7 back office facilities at this week’s Aircraft Interiors Expo 2007 event
in Hamburg, Germany. AeroMobile will also be showing its production standard aircraft
equipment at the Expo.
The demonstrations show AeroMobile’s service readiness in operating and billing
mobile communications services as they would be used by airline passengers. Users
will automatically have any voice calls, text messages and GPRS data use seamlessly
billed to their existing mobile phone account or subscription plan in the same
way as any other international roaming use.
“These demonstrations and displays prove AeroMobile’s systems and services are
complete and fully operational” said Dave Poltorak, President, AeroMobile. “AeroMobile
has seen tremendous interest in our services in Europe, the Middle East and Australasia
from both the airline and telecoms industries and this has flowed through in the
progress we have made in telecoms regulatory approvals and roaming agreements.”
he added.
AeroMobile has now received 30 regulatory approvals from countries in Europe,
the Middle East and Australasia to allow the service to be operated in their airspace.
Additionally, AeroMobile already has roaming agreements with 121 mobile phone
operators around the world, allowing the 962 Million subscribers of those operators
to use AeroMobile. This represents 40% of all GSM mobile phone users globally.
AeroMobile has developed the world’s first system that allows passengers to safely
use their own mobile phones in flight without risks of adverse interference to
aircraft systems or ground networks. The AeroMobile system is installed in aircraft
and controls the power of all phones in the aircraft to their minimum levels,
thus eliminating the interference risk. AeroMobile connects calls to the ground
via the aircraft satellite system meaning the service is available globally wherever
the aircraft flies. Uniquely, AeroMobile is able to use the existing satellite
system installed in over 2,000 airliners today, as well as future satellite systems.
Visitors to the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg can meet with AeroMobile at
stand 2C1. AeroMobile is also featured on our partners’ stands at Panasonic (4C20)
and Inmarsat (2C45)
